What are some of the best books to learn Accounting? I am looking to learn introductory Accounting.

Ideally, I would enroll in an introduction to Accounting class this summer but I don't want to learn a new subject in such a short amount of time. I am interested in learning Accounting over the summer on my own to see if I would have an interest in taking an Intro course during the fall.

Please help. Thank you.

Are you a business major? If so, take the class in the fall. Its not really something you teach yourself. You can browse through an intro to financial accounting textbook, but I’m not sure you would really gain anything unless you truly engage yourself in the material and take a lot of time to understand the concepts. Its more of a theory and not something that you can read a book about and easily pick up on.

He’s not a business major. If he were, since all business majors are required to take Intro Acc (I would be shocked if there were a program that didn’t require it), he would not be contemplating taking it. Why don’t you look up the textbook for the intro class offered at your school, Linkinpa?

I already have a BA and am considering taking an Intro class at a local community college but that’s been a problem and I also would not want to take an intro class in the summer. I much rather take it in the fall.
