Best Books for AP EXAMS in APUSH & AP CHEMISTRY

What books are the best for each and can help me get at least a four?

Can you specify if “books” mean study guides or textbooks?

If you are looking for textbooks, FYI our class uses Chemistry The Central Science by Brown, Lemay and Bursten, AP Edition, hardcover. Still, I cannot guarantee you that this book is great for AP, since this book is one of tens of textbooks for AP Chemistry.

But if the matter is study guide, you should really consider NOT buying the Barron’s AP Chemistry… first the description of major topic is done in such a wordy way that it may take even days to understand an important concept… second, some topics are not even included in AP Chem exam, such as the Rydberg equation…the electron orbital nodes…the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle explained in mathematics…Chemistry with Calculus… sky is the limit if you are talking about useless stuff in Barron’s AP Chem. Just buy the Princeton’s Review study guide - the authors do a pretty good job in explaining only the fundamental concepts. you could use a good textbook on your own to have collateral coverage of topics that you need to know. Good luck on AP Chemistry!

APUSH:
Prepbook: AMSCO.
Best Textbook: American Pageant… I’m hesitant to say this because I personally hate the book but so many teachers use it. But Give Me Liberty by Eric Foner makes a very nice supplement to AMSCO/Pageant. AMSCO can arguably be used as the main book for your studying since the real point of having an APUSH class is to learn DBQ skills.

Peterson’s are good for both Chemistry and APUSH. I have the Chemistry on e-books. I will trade you for something.

For Chem textbook I used the same as benhpark except I have the tenth edition instead of AP. I would agree that princeton review was decent for chemistry, but I found just taking the practice tests helped more after going through the textbook.

Chemistry Textbook: Chemistry the Central Science. Look up the publisher website since it will give you the ap correlation.
Chemistry Study Guide: Princeton Review

U.S. History Textbook: (shamefully) American Pageant. It has good amount of information, but try to endure the annoying metaphors.
