Which books are best for SAT II US History, SAT II Math IIC and AP US History? Thanks!

The only book I used for the US history SAT II was Kaplan, and it helped me go from a 680 to an 800... of course, I had to study a lot too...

I got an 800 on Math Level II with the Princeton Review Book. Use it, its great!

level2 maths, PR.

I took it in jan and the test seemed damn close to the PR practice tests. Plus the actual test was easier than PR so yeah.

bubble, how much did you study using kaplans? what was your method?

PR is good for 2C? I thought Sparknotes was pretty good?

i thought sparknotes was extremely accurate for the IIC...i got an 800 studying from it if that matters

greenbay-
I had only taken a US History course in ninth grade when I decided for some reason I HAD to take the US History SAT II. SO I got Kaplans and over the summer went through one chapter a day, highlighting and underlining, as well as making diagrams to sum up information (Timeline of British acts that annoyed the colonies and stuff like that.) The Kaplan book is probably a little more detailed than you need, but its great for what it is. Warning- don't start out strong at the beginning and falter when you get to more recent stuff, as the US History SAT II is composed of way more recent history than I had anticipated. Memorize the names of people who might seem insignificant (case in point: I memorized Margaret Sanger was a proponent of birth control, and low and behold there was a question about her.) I did the included practice tests in the month before the exam.
If you have more backround in US history than I did, you will need less review. But an 800 is definitely possible with my method, plus you learn a lot about American history that might help you down the road (I'm taking a class this year, and its relatively easy because of my backround with Kaplan.)
One last note: the only thing Kaplan may be deficient in is summing up trends, like the great migration or the migration to the sunbelt (I think in the 1950's (?)) Those show up on the test in full force. But in general, an 800 on the test is VERY doable with Kaplan.

ive taken us history honors and am currently taking ap us history. i plan to take the test may 6 so i guess i will have a good amount of time to study. im going to do some timelines as you have suggested, because it sounds like a good method. thanks for your response.

sparknotes and PR are both good for MATH2C. barron's lowers your confidence and overpreps too much.

Get Barron's. Overpreparation helps. I got an 800.

My son won't take US II until senior year so how doable will the SAT II US History be for him in May? I have ordered two study books for him. Any thoughts?
