Any ideas? Also, whats the best and easiest way to conquer this test? Its so tricky.
My friend lent me -Hack the SAT by eliot schrefer and that was pretty helpful.
I also have one of the old collegeboard official sat test guides.

I used the 2400 Barron’s book. My score went from 2080 to 2220

I hate the Kaplan books…they don’t help much.

Princeton Review just tries to make lame jokes all the time.

The best thing to do is really harshly judge yourself and your skills. Pinpoint on your weaknesses and don’t waste time practicing stuff you’re good at.

Above all, improve your endurance for test taking because its usually fatigue that gets most students on the SAT.

i completed the blue college board book ,the BarronsSAT,and princeton how to crack the SAT…any other books that are really good??

I recommend the Barron’s books for pretty much all AP and SAT tests just because of how well they prepare you for the real test. I’ve heard about how Barron’s over-prepares you for the test and your actual score on the SAT will be higher than the score you usually receive on a Barron’s practice test. I got a 2190 on my first SAT, and I got a 2330 on my second and last SAT after just studying from a Barron’s book.

are you serious???
you went up 140 its!!!
i feel like barron’s didnt really help me…in fact, it made me think a different way when trying to solve certain questions, so when i took a BB test after barron’s, it felt very different and i didnt do as well as what i did on my actual sat this past october…

I’ve used practically every single book out there, but in hindsight the best method to study is using non-blue book books first and then using the blue book because the blue book is the closest thing to the real deal (i.e. they are real tests) and so it’s like a simulation of studying for the test and then taking the test.

Barron’s was the best for math, and I agree with everyone that it was more difficult than the actual test.

For CR, I really haven’t seen a book that does it well because no book had good enough or detailed enough explanations. However, if you need a quick fix, rote memorization of vocab can do wonders for your score… I used the barron’s word list in their book

For the writing, I used this new book called bellbright because my friend told me about it. I was reluctant at first because it was way more expensive than any other book, but it was the hands down the best for explanations since it had hours and hours of videos that worked all the problems from scratch.

And AFTER you’re tried everything on your own and you’re still having trouble, a few sessions with a tutor may help too. That’s what I did for CR, but I did it after all the self help, so it was way more cost efficient since I knew what to ask and where I needed help the most.
