Best Business Majors in University of California

I am a freshman currently attending UC Riverside this fall and got into their business economics major. I wanted to go into finance, but UCs don't have this major. What is the best major for future wall street jobs (iBanking, Venture Capitalist, Private Equity, Hedge Funds)? I am planning on transferring to other UCs or other schools within California. Any suggestions? I would like to double major/ minor in something else too (science or math). Thanks for the help!

I believe the best way to get into those jobs from a UC is to transfer to Berkeley Haas for Business Admin and take your electives in Finance/Accounting classes (you could probably also break in as Stat/math/econ)

For other schools Stanford in econ/math/stat would have a good chance at breaking into those jobs and USC Accounting has a chance (but lower than Cal or Stanford grads).

What major should I be in at UCR until I transfer?

Doesn’t Irvine have finance ?

No I checked. If you do find it can you send me the link?

I can’t find it.
How bout CAL POLY SLO and CSU-LB ?

theman, stick with the business econ (the other option at UCR as a freshman is to enter the pre-business program) and get out to Berkeley. If you get that chance to transfer to Berkeley, either Haas or econ will be just fine if you want to go the finance route. Wall Street’s going to be tough to get into regardless, but your only realistic hope towards that path is to get into Berkeley and network hard once you’re there. You’ll have a handful from UCLA go WS every year but financial corps don’t hit UCLA or USC all that hard.

Ok other than networking, does it matter where you go to for undergrad? Like would UCR UCI or UCSD be bad?

In the UC system doubt many people break in outside of Berkeley and maybe a couple from UCLA unless their father/mother is a big deal and can land them a position.

Ok UCLA and UCB will also be better for internships right?
