Best Cell Phone Carrier at Yale??

What cell phone carrier gets the most coverage on campus?

I have T-Mobile right now, but it's coverage absolutely sucks anywhere outside of the west coast. I'm thinking of getting a new plan. What should I get?

My D is in Davenport and we have Verizon. While coverage was great in the fall and winter, for some reason we had difficulty this spring when she was in her residential college.

Hey, great to see another Oregonian heading to Y. I just saw today that there’s a guy from Corvallis who’s an entering frosh as well.

You don’t need to switch. I have T-mobile and it works fine at Yale.

I would switch if i were you. I had t-mobile to start the year and it was horrible reception. When my parents took me for move in we all had trouble calling eachother and it would often take me a few tries to call home. So I switched.

AT&T works fine, though they have a lot of dropped calls (not just here, it seems everywhere) but verizon seems to be the best.

I asked D about this. She said most students have either AT&T or Verizon. She has Verizon and has been “perfectly” happy with the service.

Does anyone have Sprint? If so, how is it?

I’ll post in here to continue representing the Oregonians going to Yale next year. Moreover, I have never had a cell phone, and needed suggestions as well about which carrier and plans to get that would work best with Yale. Ideally, it would be a family plan, but any suggestions are welcome.

Never had any problems with TMobile. Also there are TMobile and Sprint stores near campus if that makes any diff

We have Sprint and D’s phone (Blackberry) worked fine in New Haven. The problem came when she was traveling internationally during spring break and this summer. Her friends who have AT&T had significantly fewer problems with their i-phones or AT&T BlackBerries. When our contract is up for renewal with Sprint we plan to switch to AT&T.
