Best chances to get into a direct admit nursing program?

My daughter is interested in a good nursing program. She is in her junior year of HS with an average gpa of 3.3 with several honors courses taken. Her high school classes placed an emphasis on chemistry, biology, kinesiology and anatomy. We are looking for a direct admit program within 8 hours of NJ. Does anyone have any suggestions?

@NDSdad I live in NJ as well. Nursing admit is highly dependent on SAT or ACT scores. Even test optional schools require them for nursing. We have retired nursing educator in the family and a few nieces are in nursing.

If I recall TCNJ and Stockton have the highest NCLEX pass rates in NJ, both well over 90%.

What are her test scores?

She didn’t get the ACT results back yet. Her first SAT was 1620. She plans to take them again.

There are many direct entry nursing programs at both public and private colleges and universities in Pennsylvania. My son was admitted to the nursing program at IUP with similar GPA and test scores as your daughter (89 GPA, 1570 SAT). IUP has a well-regarded program with high NCLEX pass rates.

Hard to say without standardized test scores.
I would try using the Supermatch function on CC. It is to the left under Find a College.
Offhand perhaps UScranton, Russel Sage, Sacred Heart, Pace might be options

I don’t know about the schools in your part of the country, but out West direct-admit nursing programs often have a supplemental questionaire and one of the things they really care about is experience in the field. If your D is not working as a volunteer in a health-care setting this is something she may want to do. And not just for admissions, it can help her see if the career is right for her.
