Best Classes on a Transcript

Hello All!
I'm starting my Sophmore year at a community college and am hoping to transfer to Vanderbit with a 4.0. I've enrolled in Pre-Calc II, Beginning Spanish I, Accounting II, Survey of Literature: Fiction, and Galactic and Stellar Astronomy. I'm thinking about dropping astronomy for General Botany to make this semester look a little harder, do you guys think that will make a big difference? Also, what would you guys recommend for next semster? The only classes i'll HAVE to take are Spanish II and some other kind of science. Any other ideas on classes?

What is your intended major? I assume they would like your freshman and sophomore year to have a lot of classes that could transfer over and satisfy requirements.

thanks for your reply! economics, I e-mailed the transfer adviser and she said they look for a solid liberal arts foundation or something of the likes.

I would check if Vanderbilt (or any other school you may apply to) has any sort of required classes. If the schools do have required courses, you may want to get them “out of the way” at your community college so that you can take the classes that you want/ are necessary for your major at your four year school.

I would also contact the transfer advisor and make sure there isn’t a department or two that is known to be picky about accepting transfer credits.

thanks, i’m going through the required classes now for Vandy. To be honest though, I’m less concerned about my credits transfering than I am about getting into a good school. Vanderbilt would give me a full ride as part of their new no loan need-based aid program, so I wouldnt be too depressed if I had to retake some classes.
