I am planning to submit my application online today and the last thing i have to do is rank the UCSD colleges. Please help me make my decision, thanks! here's my situation:

-I plan to major in biochem/molecular biology
-im not a fan of a liberal arts curriculum (i like to stick with math and science).
-quality of dorms is pretty important, but i wont die if i get stuck in a crappy dorm, after all its only a year
-exciting social life is extremely important but of course academics comes first

i dont really know much about any of these colleges so im hoping someone can help me out!

also, does anyone know if we are allowed to transfer among the 6 colleges once we go there and decide that we dont like the one we are in? if so, how easy/hard is it?

well revelle has a lot of science and math courses in their GEs, but it also has the most difficult writing sequence: 5 quarters of intensive writing, as compared to 2 or 3 for most of the other colleges. revelle also has the worst dorms. none of the other colleges devote a huge focus to math and science. i would say go with any college, except for erc, because they have the most GEs, and few of them are related to math and science (although they do have the nicest dorms). it is supposed to be VERY difficult to switch colleges once admitted, but that doesn't mean it can't be done. you would have to have a very good reason for wanting the switch because they don't make it easy for you.
