Best college for me?

Hi there! I am in the process of committing to UC Santa Cruz, but I am an oos applicant so I haven't had a chance to see the dorms or anything. I hope someone can help me out asap! [-O<

-I'm going in as a freshman for 2014/15.
-I'm a white girl (idk why that matters but everyone else includes it when asking what college is best for them lol)
-I would love to be around a diverse group of people
-I guess I would say I'm preppy but I get along with almost everyone, and I am very outgoing
-While I take academics seriously I am in no way a genius or a bookworm
*-The most important thing to me when choosing a dorm is that it is new, clean, fairly spacious… mostly clean
(I know I'm asking for a lot but it's pretty expensive to go here out of state, I'd like to feel comfortable in my environment lol) :D
-I also am in love with the nature aspect of this school, and I would like to be around others who appreciate it as well. I'd rather do things outdoors like hike or surf than party. (However, partying doesn't bother me at all. I don't personally smoke but I went to an inner city school in Chicago; I'm not bothered by it at all.)

I really hope someone can help me out here :D/
Thanks!

I’m an OOS applicant as well, and I’ve been researching quite a bit so I’ll tell you what I know!
College 9/10 are the newest, and apparently have the nicest dorms by far. College 9 and College 10 are basically identical, and they house quite a few international students due to the fact they are right next to the international student center. I think College 9/10 is known for preppiness too.
Stevenson College would be your best bet for finding students that would hike or surf with you. It’s the athletic/outdoor/adventure college. But I heard their dorms aren’t that nice, nor is their dining hall. But then again it’s Santa Cruz- you’re gonna find outdoorsy types everywhere.

I’d say College 9/10 would be your best bet. Try to keep Crown, Oakes, and Merrill off your list though, because apparently even if they are at the bottom of your list, you’ll get stuck there due to need of more students.

Good Luck, hope to see you in the fall! Go Banana Slugs!

Thank you so much for your help! @daisy1996
