Best college to apply to at NYU...Mcghee? CAS? LSP?

I'm applying to NYU as a transfer student. I took one year of college at Lehigh University with a cumulative GPA of 3.3 Took mainly advanced classes, 200+ and 300 level courses. Have great extra-curriculars and will have good recommendations.

I took this year off from school (09/2010-05/2011) for personal reasons..my brother was in a serious car accident. Now, some people are telling me I should apply to NYU Paul Mcghee division, but I don't know much about this school. Will I be able to transfer out of Mcghee and into the College of arts and sciences? I know that I won't be able to receive a degree in economics from Mcghee.

What are my other options? I'd like to major in business or economics, and french. Can I apply to the Liberal Studies program? Do I have a shot at being accepted into CAS? What college would you recommend for me?

Any advice is welcome and you can email me directly at mark.aid20c@gmail.com

Thank you

I went on the Mcghee website, and you can major in economics. I don’t know a lot about Mcghee (in the way of how it’s different from CAS or admissions) but just know that you can major in economics. Liberal Studies isn’t something you apply to, your put into it when you apply to CAS. For Liberal studies, it’s a program in your first and second year at NYU, so I don’t see how transfers can get put into it. Mcghee is for “adults over 19 who have been out of high school at least a year”. However, you only took a year off, so maybe you better contact NYU or talk to a current Mcghee student to see where you’d be a better fit, there or CAS. Good luck, here’s the Mcghee website where I found this information.
