I have a 3.7 GPA unweighted and weighted 3.8-3.9 depending on which GPA and my SAT will be from 1770-1840 (last test score was 1770, but with practice tests I expect to do better).

I took 5 ap classes, so far have only taken 3. Out of the three so far (Art,Bio, Eng), I only passed english, but with a 4. I will take ap lit and stats this year.

My list so far: (I know most are reaches)

Tufts: Highest Reach

Brandies - mid reach?

Boston College- mid reach?

NYU- low reach?

Boston University- low reach?

Hunter College--out of state safety in upper east side (if all else fails I could be in NY, NY in upper east side!!--dreamy right?)

In-state list: CA

UC: Berkeley--mid reach?

LA-- low reach?

Santa Barbara---my "fit" school right?

USC--mid reach?

Pitzer college- Fit?

Occidental college- low reach?

CSU: San Francisco(safety)---is this even a good option for safety... anyone know anything about this school I hear it's terrible lately. I would only go if I was given the the CSU presidential scholarship.

I was looking at U of Michigan, michigan state, american university, but I really want to live in a city and area that is thriving and has endless opportunities..., I have lived in the suburbs my entire life and I want out...

SAT so far: (I know it sucks compared to you ivy league people)

Writing: 650

I feel my essay will definitely set me apart from others. I am a 1st generation college student who is not supported by family socially, is discriminated for not being religious, lives with sexist parents(I am female so it's tough), and my family actually called me a curse. I feel this may set me apart...because I have a story to tell...

By NY, NY do you mean just Manhattan or any of the 5 burrows?

yes anywhere in the city

CUNY schools can be pretty good and there are different schools in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens, and the Bronx. Most of them would be matches if you’re out of state.
Fordham is in the Bronx it’s a good school, but the Bronx can be rough in parts.
Saint John’s University isn’t bad neither is Wagner College

I don’t know how any of those are for foreign language though.

The part of the Bronx it’s in isn’t bad. And they have a Manhattan campus.

“Fordham’s core” I think is what it’s called, it’s kind of ridiculous imo. They require you to complete a language levels 1-4 unless you can pass the test. Idk if that’s a problem for you. It’s a great school though.

Given that the OP’s major (in the title of the thread) is “foreign languages,” no, I don’t think that would be a problem.

What do you mean by levels 1-4? Is this stupid or difficult? I do not understand what you are trying to imply…please just be harsh and tell me the truth in hard words(To the point)

Is it only for adult continuing education…I visited the site and it seems they prefer adults. Also, would I have to be a catholic or Jesuit to attend? Would I ever have to do religious practices or attend church?

No, I’m pretty sure they want high school kids because they send info out to you if you check off send stuff from colleges on your PSAT.
You’d may have to take religion electives but you don’t have to be Catholic or Jesuit. You probably won’t have to go to a church or religious practice but I can’t say for sure. My friend goes to a Jesuit college and she doesn’t go to church.

Apparently they are open to free thinkers
