What are the best programs out there in terms of computer science and business? I’ve come across many but it’s difficult seeing which ones are the best.
A dual degree in both CS and Business Admin seems to be the most common path - yet some programs seem much more integrated, such as Stanford’s MS&E program. Would appreciate any knowledge/experience anyone has to share!
Not an expert here but the one I’ve read most about is Lehigh. I think WPI has something as well. It looks like USC does as well through the CS schol. The true experts will chime in now
I am not an expert either. Just want to add that UT Austin’s Computer Science and Business are both ranked in the top 10 in their respective fields and they have a combined Computer Science Business Honors program that combines both. Since it’s an honors program it’s especially hard to get into.
First issue would be getting accepted to both schools within the college. CS and business programs typically have their own app process. This gets more complicated if both programs are not direct admission. You probably would apply to one major and then declare a double your 2nd or 3rd year.
Doing a double major probably will be difficult to do in four years. CS and business schools typically have a fair amount of core courses. Add your electives and 4 years would be tough.
Do a major/minor in CS/Bus or go a different route like Industrial Engineering.
Best is really subjective and the answer varies based on budget, qualifications and the student experience you are looking for. The ‘best’ programs a really selective and aren’t accessible to most students so its kinda a pointless conversation.
There are lots of schools where you can get a great education and double major with a more pedestrian qualifications.
