BEST communications and film schools in the U.S?

University of Southern California - #1

My best advice for you, Kyle 33, (because I share similar ambitions) is to apply to a school that can offer you great internships and that has a reputation for doing such. I know UCLA does...as well as many, many schools in upstate New York. Having connections really helps. It also gives you an edge and prepares you for the realities of the field.

Ive said this once before about a film school question. . . Loyola Marymount University has a great film school. A friend of mine had a cumlative 4.0 (UW) and was class president, could have gone to a much better school, but chose LMU. It isn't great outside of the film school but for film it is excellent. I do think it is pretty selective tho. Just trying to throw something out that is different. O yea and one more, Fairfield, I don't know how great of a reputation it has but another friend of mine is looking at film school, and says it is his second choice behind USC. Apparently in a lot of film schools underclassmen do very little in terms of actually making movies and fairfield has a lot of hands on class work. so yea Fairfield and LMU are worth checking out

sorry, but where is Wesleyan? btw -- Rev. John Welsey, it's good to hear from you.

Sorry, but where is Welseyan?

Weselyan is in Connecticut.

The University of Miami might be a good option. Its got a pretty good film school and Communication school. In terms of weather, social atmosphere, sports, location, they are very similar.
Look into it. You might have a better shot as UM has a 40% acceptance rate (overall) as opposed to the 25% u mentioned at USC... BTW It has a nice campus as well.
