Best community college in WA State?

I'm in the process of deciding on a community college to attend this upcoming fall. Anyone have any recommendations in the Seattle area? Currently looking at: Green River Community College

Where do you live? Green River is pretty far south from Seattle. Are you looking for any specific programs, or are you just looking for a general transfer degree (called a Direct Transfer Agreement - DTA - degree)?

In the Seattle area, your choices are (from North to South): Edmonds, Shoreline, Cascadia, North Seattle, Seattle Central, South Seattle, Highline, Green River.

For details on what each college offers, check out the [Field Guide to Washington State’s Community and Technical Colleges 2011 - 2012](http://www.sbctc.ctc.edu/college/fieldguide2011.aspx)

Personally, I think a lot depends on where you live and what program you want to study. All things being equal, I like Edmonds, North Seattle, Cascadia and Highline.

Thank you!

Going to Cascadia I gotta say it is really awesome there. The professors are really friendly and all will gladly help you through your class if you are having trouble. Its kinda cheesy in my opinion, but they talk about how some random magazine ranked them as the number 2 community college in the country back in like 2009.

Bellevue College is the best in the state. We have the best facility, best people, hard classes that prepare you for UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON! I am there right now (Running start student aka high school student who takes college classes), and I feel like it helps me to be the best. There are a lot of young people there so it gives off a good energy.

Hi there! I’m an international student who wishes to study in a CC in washington, and I was wondering whether the running start program is good at Bellevue! like do u take full time classes in colege campus or only few credits? and also, can I move to any university that accepts transfer programs within US? or only in WA state? thanks!

Are you a high school student? Running Start is only for students enrolled in a WA State high school. Students apply to enter the Running Start program, and then are eligible to take college courses that will also satisfy their high school graduation requirements. Some students participate full-time in Running Start, i.e. they only take classes at their college and none at their high school. Others are part-time Running Start, taking classes both at their college and high school.

The college credits that you earn as a Running Start student are no different from college credits earned by anyone else. You have a college transcript that is fully transferable to anywhere else.

Bellevue College has a large and well-respected Running Start program, as well as good support for International Students.
