Best CSU for Civil Engineering.

Hi, I have been awarded a scholarship to study Civil Engineering in the US and I'm kinda lost.

I want to study in California but can't decide which university to go to. I'm thinking about CSU Fullerton or San Diego State University but I have some questions:
1- Which university is better in Civil Engineering?
2- I want to go to grad school after I get my bachelor's degree so which one looks better when applying to grad school?
- My high school percentage is 95.02%, where do I have a better chance of getting accepted into?
3- Is Fullerton cheaper than San Diego? I'll be getting 2200$ a month (hopefully much more in the second year) for rent and other uses, is that enough? My mother and sister will be staying with me during the first year so we'll be sharing the rent. We want a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment, what are the prices?
4- Which city is safer and nicer?
5- Do you have any other suggestions? but please don't suggest universities that operate on a quarter system.

Any answer would be appreciated! :)
Thank you.

You might want to consider Cal Poly Pomona, which is very highly rated for civil engineering. It is considered a CSU, since you ask about CSUs. Oops, never mind, just checked and it’s on the quarter system.

In answer to your other questions, San Diego is much safer and nicer than Fullerton. I don’t know about cost or quality of programs.

CSU Long Beach has a better engineering reputation than Fullerton. SDSU has a good reputation as well. Both have graduate programs for CE. All three of these schools are impacted, so I recommend applying to all three and then evaluating based on where you get in.

Cal Poly SLO is certainly worth consideration as well.
