Best Curves

I'm considering registering for SAT IIs and want to know which of the following tests have the best curves (generally):

Specifically, the ones where it's easiest to get an 800.

US History
World History
Literature
Chemistry
Physics
Math II

World History’s curve is like 10+ wrong for an 800. Lit is not so good. Math 2 is like -6. I think USH is something like 10 wrong.

for physics i know that 63+/75 is an 800 i got a 750

BEWARE: the physics test does not emphase formulas much but it is very heavy of your conceptual understanding. im pretty sure i could of gotten an 800 but a lot of the concept problems got me and i ended up with a 750

Thanks guys. Keep it coming!

I’m actually stronger on conceptual thinking, thankfully. :)

as others have already stated, math lvl 2(sounds like a pokemon or something xD), physics, and the histories are generally the easiest to get 800s in

I’ve heard that Lit is around -2?! That’s insane!

USH is around -8 and Math II is around -5 for 800s. Those are generally considered pretty easy.

43/50 raw score on Math 2 is almost always 800.

Chemistry - If i remember, I skipped around/got wrong about 4/5 and got a 750 because of the lab questions and the T/F bubble in questions. I believe one or two wrongs would get you an 800.

@ jerry - that one must hae had a weak curve. In my book at least, -6 is still an 800

For Chemistry it’s more like -4–6, usually -5. The curve isn’t too great, but it’s pretty good.

Math 1 has a terrible curve .

^Oh, hmmm, maybe I should look it up in the SAT II blue book then to see the approximate curve myself.

I’m using a Barron’s Chemistry SAT II book, and according to that, you can get 75/85 for an 800…I’m hoping it’s true, but doesn’t seem accurate according to other books/sources :/

@jerry4445 I got a 750 on Chem last year during my sophomore year and remember getting no more that 7-8 wrong out of the 75 questions.

Barrons is ridiculous with it’s conversion charts.

Well, I’m off with my estimation.

Sorry that I did not get Physics and Literature.

^ Math II and USH have wonderful curves

World history looks even nicer… wow!

^The only problem with WH and USH is that finishing all 95 or so questions in one hour is pretty difficult.

^Finishing the 90 questions is not hard. I took it and finished with 10 minutes left, and I am very slow.
