Hi, I was wondering how can I know which departments of madison are fairly strong among all US universities? And actually how good are they?

Political science, genetics, sciences in general

French, History, English, Econ

wisconsin is a great university all around, but its engineering department is one of the best in the nation

Sociology, psychology, languages, life sciences (all), chemistry, biochem, education, journalism. Easier to list not so great ones.

These are grad rankings, so they don’t tell you much about the quality of undergrad teaching, but they give some idea of department strength.
