Hey guys! i am from an international student from hk and I am totally bewildered by the great variety of choices of dorms in NU. Can anyone experienced please kindly give me some advice on the dorm that best suits me? I will really appreciate that. I am looking for a dorm which is co-edu, medium to large size, and where ppl will hv fun and interact with each other besides studying.

THanks so much

the doorms with the "most-fun" reputations are bobb, elder (all freshman), and allison (i think). im going to choose elder over bobb because the facilities are nicer and better-kept. not to say that bobb is bad, but, if my dorm host was a good indication, they are crazy over there. my fav part about bobb was the basketball court next to the dorm and the proximity to the athletic center. elder is much nicer IMO though. dont know too much on allison.

it really depends on what you definition of "fun" is. if "fun" is heavy drinking nd partying, bobb and elder would probably fit

i'm living in bobb for a second year, so that's a testament to it's awesomeness. the way i look at it, it's easier to leave the party than find the party at NU. if bobb were at a big state school, it would be a pretty tame dorm. when it comes down to it, you're still at NU.

allison is a very good choice, the place looks like a freakin hotel compared to bobb--given your description i'd go with allison.

What is the deal with Shephard?

shepard is a relatively large (200-300 kids, i get it mixed up with willard) non-thematic residential dorm. more community like, more dorm sponsored activities, pretty and cozy. where i want to live.

you'd probably really like Allison...
