So I have to fill out my housing questionnaire for CMC and theres a section that allows you to request halls for next semester. Since I know next to nothing about what housing is like (aside from the fact that there is a north quad and a south quad), can someone tell me what the different dorms are like in terms of size of rooms, comfort, location with respect to classes and other buildings, and all the other nice stuff. All your help is appreciated, thanks!

All the North Quad dorms open to the outside, and they’re the closest to the classrooms. They’re the nosiest dorms on campus and have the most parties (which can be a plus or a minus depending on your personality). Also, they don’t have air conditioning.

Mid Quad is… not so great. The dorms are kind of old and funky. I wouldn’t live there.

The new dorm (Claremont Hall) is really pretty amazing. The rooms are huge, and the architecture is very modern-- although it sometimes reminds me of an office building (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e0/Claremont-hall.jpg).

South Quad is more subdued than North Quad. It has 3 towers: Stark, Fawcett, and Auen. Stark is substance free. Fawcett and Auen were both remodeled recently so they’re very nice.

I wouldn’t worry too much about location (ie how far away the classrooms are) because the campus is so small it doesn’t really matter. I think Claremont, Fawcett, and Auen are the best dorms on campus, but if you’re looking for more of a party atmosphere than pick North Quad.
