BEST DORMS IN USC? advice!

HI! I GOT ACCEPTED (YES YES YES!) and.... just wondering (to those who currently attend SC), which dorms/"houses" are, in your opinion, the BEST ONES?

keeping in mind, I'm Asian, crave diversity, love to have fun but still need quiet time to study, good location on campus...

I have to send in my housing form so I just wanted advice before I submit!
THANK YOU =)

take a look through older threads,
you'll find plenty of information about this. : )

You really should check out other threads on this subject.

I put Birk as my first choice and I want the exact same things as you do.

Hope that helps!!

krisiitina, you will fit in very well in Parkside Suites, as it has all you seek above.

yay thanks guys, there's just so many threads I was like..."where do I start?!"

redski, you made my life so much easier!

Check out Birnkrant. Maybe Pardee as well.

I'm also Asian, crave diversity, love to have fun but still need quiet time to study as a Biomedical Engineer, but I have to put in my opinion to consider North.

Yep New and North is a the way to go especially with Everybody's Kitchen located so close. I'm gonna be a freshman and I only listed those two dorms as my options on the housing request.

okay i did the research...
1. birnkrant
2. pardee
3. marks tower
4. new
5. north

im debating whether to take a new/north out and replace one of them with marks hall....bad idea?

guys...this is like a dream for me. I CAN'T BELIEVE IM DOING THIS! YAY IM CHOOSING HOUSING FOR USC!!

sorry. still ecstatic!!!!!!!!!

From what I know, yes. Don't do that.

I saw Marks Hall tour thing and it looks cramped and tiny. I wouldn't do it...

Not all the rooms in Marks Hall look like the one on the Housing website. Rooms in Marks Hall are not standardized. Each one has a different setup, furniture placement, and size. Some of the rooms are even sized to be a triple, with 3 closets and extra floor space, but they're still doubles. You may get lucky and get a big room. Some of these Marks Hall rooms have so much floor space, it puts New/North to shame.

FYI.

Oh thanks! I saw the 3 people room and although it has more room, i still would not want to share it with 3 people...

parkside is the nicest followed by birnkrant...you dont wanna eat at Everybody's kitchen, get the $2500 dining dollars plan...better value

i chose birnkrant as my number one... woohoo : )
anyone wanna refresh my memory as to when we find out what we get?
i sent in my housing app over a month ago, so i kinda forgot..

krisiitina: I chose almost the same as you did.

Birnkrant

Pardee

Marks Tower
4/5. Trojan Hall, Marks Hall (?)

Don't remember my last 2. I don't know when we find out what we got. Hopefully it's soon!

I kinda wish i put birnkrant first instead of new/north first...

I'm a cool Asian girl (lol) and put Birnkrant as my first choice...I heard it has a pretty good balance between social stuff and academics :)

Cool Asian girl? :p

can you live in marks hall or trojan hall if you are not pres. scholar, etc. If so what are those dorms like for the average joe
