<p>Well since you want an academic dorm, IMO for the best dorm in terms of size, Eigenmann. I dont know a whole lot about SE.</p>
<p>I personally think Eigenmann sucks. You either have a very long walk or take a bus to every class. For as much flak as they get, the southeast dorms have a good location for freshman year. They're actually a better location in relation to academic halls than any other dorm on campus.</p>

<p>I'm not sure, because you actually sign a contract for the year, and they may consider that binding. Your best bet is to call Housing and if they say it's okay to do that, get it in writing!</p>
<p>The other thing to remember is that almost everyone else you meet is gonna have a roommate. the chance that you'll find someone else who a) is in a single b) wants to move into a double c) you want to room with, is very slim indeed. just go with the random roommate. if it really is horrible you can move out, but it most likely won't be that bad.</p>
<p>NYY, I did the same thing as you, I sent my deposit in in October for a single, what do those of you who have attended IU or have kids that go to IU think my chances are that way? I requested the Central and Southeast neighborhoods, seeing as I'm not a party animal, nor a business major. Just curious as to what you think my chances are of getting a single as a frosh. <p>Basically, if you want a single, you're going to get one. There are more people who want doubles than meet the supply, so they are put in singles. The demand for singles is lower than supply. Ahhh, don't take E201.</p>
<p>I'm not sure I agree with that. Ashton is all singles, so if you're there you will get a single. But the people I know in Teter who have singles are sophmores who requested them. I'm not really an expert on that so A2wolves may be right.</p>
