Best Freshman Dorm: Feinberg Hall?

This question is for all current Princeton students or any '09ers who have some insight:

I'm an '09er and I was assigned to Feinberg Hall. I was talking to a friend of mine who attened a send-off party for the class of 2009 in California and told her I would be living in Feinberg Hall (part of Wilson College). She then went on to tell me that at the send-off party, a current Princeton student proclaimed that the best freshman dormitory was in fact Feinberg Hall in Wilson College. Have you heard the same? and why is this? or why is this not true in your opinion?

Thanks!

probably a bit of partisanship on the student's part. i'd nominate instead blair-buyers, holder, and witherspoon, all fresh off of recent renovations. forbes main and 1927-clapp (the latter's also in wilson) are decent as well.

Feinberg is pretty nice, and it is only for freshmen.

:D Holla for Holder. Look at all the pride i have for it, and i havent even seen it! that means it must be good :D

since none of you can change your housing assignments...and will be arriving in princeton in 2 weeks, why bother debating this?

not really debating. just playful banter. :D. we don't know which dorm is better as we havent been inside yet.. or visited others.. but taht'll soon change! DORM parties! whoooooo.

except those in sub. free...hahaha

Feinberg is good, but there are other, definitely better living situations. 111 1939 Hall is a large suite that has some freshman guys in it, and 1927/Clapp is certainly better within Wilson College.

Outside of Wilson, Bloomberg is awesome. In Rocky, Witherspoon and Buyers are both nice, while Holder should be good throughout, save for the rooms on the north side of the building, which face Nassau St.

how about 1915 hall?

Good for girls (singles) bad for guys (triples). It's definitely one of the better ones of Butler. No brick walls or waffle ceilings. I've heard that it's quiet.

Well, from what I've seen online, Feinberg Hall seems to have pretty large rooms and in-suite bathrooms. Does anybody know if the rooms are really as big as they seem? Or are they small?

You could get an idea of how big the rooms are by looking at the size of the door on the plans.

Yeah, as aram mentioned, figuring out the size of the room from the size of the door isn't a bad idea. I, however, walk by Feinberg almost every day, and while I can't think of the precise dimensions of the rooms, they are reasonably large. You can easily fit a futon or two into the common room along with a TV, but I think the bedrooms would be fairly cramped if you didn't bunk your beds. As you've probably noticed, there's both an indoor stairwell and an outdoor stairwell. The kids in Feinberg tend to become extremely close, as they can walk from one room to the other without going outside, and they have their laundry there, etc.

i lived in feinberg next year.

the bedrooms are decently sized (for suite bedrooms) you CAN unbunk the beds and fit the desks and dressers in the rooms, AND still have room for a bookcase and some room to walk. People also put their desks (or some of their desks) in the common rooms for more space.

The common rooms definately have enought room for a futon (or two if you lay it out right), chairs, and maybe a small table. As long as you arent in 001, you can get storage stuff to put in the bathroom (but 001 has a hallway which can serve the same purpose)

Feinberg is awesome, you guys have really cool RCAs and are really lucky to live there. its a pertty amazing. Its a great location (much better than holder, blair, or witherspoon)

woohoo! im glad you liked it! excited...

Yes, Feinberg's location is enviable. And I'm really impressed how you've managed live next year already. :)

Aye, IMO Feinberg has the best location of any dorm.

Feinberg has a great community. As tunanfish also pointed out, it's at the center of campus as well and right on Frist's doorstep.

The only downside is that you need to go to 1937 to access a printer. I'm also sure Feinberg doesn't have a kitchen.

the 1937 to go to the printer isnt a big deal at all- feinberg is much closer to a printer than other wilson co. residential halls (ie 1939, clapp, do, or walker) the only 2 printer clusters in wilson are at jstreet (in wilcox) and 1937.

Just make friends with the ppl in the fishbowl- they have a back door which leads right to 1937

whats the Fishbowl?
