What are the top 3 websites/books about getting into law school and preparing? I remember reading a post with a list of these a few years ago but I don't know where it is anymore...

Some of the best $$ under $30 you will spend is to get the Richard Montauk's
How to Get into Top Law Schools and Anna Ivery's The Ivey Guide to Law School Admissions:Straight Advice on Essays, Resumes and More.

They can be purchased as a set from Amazon for ~$28.35 (free shipping over $25) and they cover everything from soup to nuts as far as going to law school). The Montauk book the book is approximately 500 pages and gives a very comprehensive overview of the college process and discusses applications, essays, LSATs, majors, etc.
Montauk does speak with many admissions directors regarding their selection process. For example; some schools use indexes, which are a combination of GPA, LSAT and a constant (You can get the current law school index guide from the LSAC). You can plug in the numbers and see what the indexes look like.

Ivey is a real quick read an very comprehensive

I really like the Montauk book too. for websites, I think everyone should start with the official one, LSAC.org Homepage. There's a lot of information there. Another good download is http://www.bcgsearch.com/pdf/BCG_Law_Schoool_Guide_2008.pdf
which describes the top 50 law schools, with interesting information about grading policies, etc.

I second sybbie. I think Mountauk's is by far the best book I've read on the subject. While I have not used his "How To Get Into Top Law Schools" book (yet), I happily and successfully used his "Hot to get Into Top MBA Programs". I have read both (they are very similar, too!), so well see if the former proves as useful as the latter...

I agree - "How To Get Into The Top Law Schools" is excellent.

Make sure to buy the Revised Edition - like most books, it's pretty cheap on Amazon from 3rd-party sellers:

How To Get Into The Top Law Schools, Revised Edition

This one's solid too:

Best links thread:

thank you very much :)
