princeton. p-ton.

Georgetown's SFS and Penn's Huntsman

Tufts (Fletcher School and undergrad are #1)

I would add Johns Hopkins University as well as Brown University.

George Washington University has a really strong program-The Elliot School

Snuffles-which rankings are you referring to? I never could find rankings for IR.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't notice that you only wanted ivy suggestions. =)
I definetely would say that Columbia is tops of the ivies for IR. That's just my opinion.

American University and Georgetown University also should be added. :)

Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton (very difficult to enter)

There really aren't rankings, but that's what the Tufts told us and so we truthfully believe it so :)

LOL snuffles. This is such an incredible field and it seems to be growing in popularity very quickly. Not as many universities offer it as a major as I would prefer. It made my college search very difficult and eliminated many universities that I would have been interested in otherwise. The colleges that I discovered with strong programs in International Affairs/studies/relations were GW, American, Georgetown, JHU, Princeton, Columbia, UVA, Middlebury, Brown, Mississippi, NYU(very small program but still good), BU, and Tufts(Of Course!). Sorry if I forgot some west coast schools-I didn't research that area. I wonder what the rankings would be is US news actually ranked IA programs.

I think it's hard to rank because it's a much more interdisciplinary field than a lot of other majors

Yeah. In a way, I'm glad they don't rank because I think rankings over generalize things, but there's little info out there on IR, so it takes much more research than fields like Business, medicine, and political science.

If you are only looking at Ivies, then: Brown and Princeton

thanx every1, does anyone know someone who went overseas to study IR?

At a foreign university or just as a study abroad?

www.watsoninstitute.org (IR at Brown)

Princeton is by far the best in IR among the Ivy League. Penn is also good, Cornell and Harvard are decent.

the KSG at Harvard is a great resource as well.

bear in mind that IR isn't a "real" major--it's a mix of many disciplines. the best school for you may depend on what your specific interests are

Wasn't this discussion to be restricted to IVY League schools.

Lalara doesn't seem to mind. If she was so bothered by our suggestions she probably would have said so for HERSELF.
