Best jobs for a high school student

Hey, I am going to be an 18 year old high school senior this fall. I plan on going to college, and decided I want to save up money for college.

My question is: what are some good paying jobs for a high school student? I live in NYC, so there should be no trouble finding a specific job.

I was also wondering if anyone of you knows anything about surveys? My friend from MA does them, and he's getting paid 50-80 bucks an hour. That seems like an easy job, but I just seem not to be able to find anything like that.

Thank you in advance!

Just peruse Craigslist.

Lifeguard.

Game Tester. Act stupid.
Like when they ask you “you fell through the floor. Why didn’t you report that?”
say “I thought that was a hidden feature.”

then never report bugs and play all day

Optimally, you’d be a concierge or a receptionist. You know, the guy in an apartment building who is in the lobby and says hello. This should provide you with above minimum wage and does not really require skills and if you are likeable enough and work year-round you should get a reasonable bonus. It should also give you enough free time to do your own thinks and contemplate existence. I’m pretty sure it was Einstein’s first job.

I work in a grocery store.

is it possible to make 20k a year in about 6-8 months working after school?

Tutoring…

I plan to work at an indoor baseball/softball training facility. I’m there everyday anyways, might as well get paid! And it’s a job I know I’ll enjoy, compared to a job at McDonalds or Walmart.

I am a self-employed couch potato.

Camp counselor was fun for me

@Microdot, no, you will probably make <10,000. Pick whatever pays at least decent that you will also enjoy, I personally work at a golf course…
