I'm interested in a journalism/communications major, but there are so many schools to choose from! There's only so much one can glean from reading the websites of all of the different schools, so I'm looking for your help! I'd really like to attend a school somewhere in the South or East coast area. I've got a general idea of the schools I've basically narrowed it down to, but I'd like to get more opinions before completely closing my mind to other schools. I do want to emphasize the whole South/East Coast thing though. I know there are tons of great schools all over the country, and I've read lots of threads focusing on Mizzou, USC, Northwestern, etc., but I'm just not that interested in those. However any suggestions or information is welcome!

UF is generally considered to have a strong journalism program; it was recently ranked top 10 in the nation.

Syracuse University is on the East Coast and has arguably the best journalism school in the country.

UNC Chapel Hill has a very good program. The school in general attracts students from all over the world. The alumni list at this school is very impressive. The campus is the most beautiful I’ve ever seen and its in the perfect college town. The only catch is they only accept about 18% maybe of out of state applicants because in NC they have to be about 80% North Carolina residents. But the journalism school is very good. I can’t spit off statistics and rankings about it because I don’t know but look it up!

If the schools reputation means a lot to you, here’s a link about journalism school at unc
