The best psych courses I have found usually belong to private universities and some public, like stanford, yale, Berkeley, michigan. I have been looking into LACs recently, as public universities don't have aid for intls and the private universities in the top 30 are too damn hard to enter. I need safeties basically. What would be good safeties for intls aiming for a psych major?

connecticut college LOVES international students and has an AMAZING psych department.

Look at the schools in the Midwest, the South & Texas. Stay away from the coasts for your safeties with a few exceptions. You will find quality institutions in the heartland and great programs. Then find schools that have a large % enrollment of internationals like 6% or more. That will give you a clue. But, don't just go for those. Find a school that you love and email them and see how interested they may be in you. Present yourself well, do your research and you should find schools that will pick up half the bill. I work with some of our internationals at my school, that is the advice I give and they are doing just fine. And yes, if you don't mind attending schools of 3000 students or less, stick with the LACs.

Thanks a lot for the advise!
