I'd like to practice international law, or do international business of some sort. Which majors should I consider? I already speak another language, and I'm semifluent in another, so I'd rather not go that route. I'd also like to avoid political science because so many people think that's what you have to do before law school.

I don't think there is a "best" major for your interests. The
ones that come to mind are political science, economics, psychology and international or specific area studies. Sociology and anthropology would work well too, as would a science or engineering major if you have interest in a specific area of the tech business.

at the univ. of so. cal, we have a buad major with concentration in international business. as a requirement, you have to spend a semester during junior or senior year (or both) studying in a different country with one of the many partners that the marshall school of business offers. i know there are affiliations with manchester (england), singapore, honk kong, paris, i believe milan and a bunch more, can't remember them all right now.

i'm a buad major at usc right now and love it.
