I’m wondering what’s the best degree to get a job in management consulting. Currently I’m planning on getting a degree in Operations Management with a comajor in Business Analyticss. Is there a better option?
Recruiting for management consulting focuses more on grades than majors so major in what you’re interested in but make sure your GPA is very high.
Engineering.
Econ, Stats, Fin, Engineering, etc. They want high GPA (minimum 3.5 just to get an interview but 3.7 to be competitive) but they also want quant skills.
Major in anything you enjoy and get a very high GPA for MBB. A slightly lower GPA for the next tier is fine. Get involved on campus.
If you are attending a school that these firms target or recruit highly from (generally the top or big name schools) and maintain the high GPA and have the right major, your chances for a management consulting position is increased than not meeting these criteria.
