What are the best study books for the math subject tests? (Both 1 and 2). I am looking to effectively teach myself precalc, so I would really like a book that explains all the concepts. Thanks!

Are you looking mainly for a math textbook, or specifically for an SAT review book?

Just get Barron’s.

get Barron’s for math 2, and the collegeboard book that has both math 1 and 2 tests.

Well specifically a review book.
I have had books that teach me how things work. My schools chem prep book basically teaches you chemistry, which is what I am looking for. An explanation of all of the concepts that show up on the test.

I think about 3/5ths of the Barron’s book teaches the concepts, and the other portion is just practice tests. It is recommended that you get this book, since the review is pretty comprehensive. Any material that you don’t understand, you could look up online or seek help here or with a math teacher.

I hope that’s helpful; I don’t know if there are (m)any books that are specifically for teaching the concepts, but Barron’s does a fair job at this.
