First time posting, but I'm a long time lurker who really appreciates CC for all the great advice! My son is a rising senior and we've just found out that his high school has cancelled his fall AP Computer Science A class and his spring AP Statistics class. (It's a small, private, fairly rigorous high school with a solid reputation but they just didn't get the enrollment in these two classes to justify offering them in the current economic environment.)</p>
<p>The ds could really benefit from these two subjects, so I'm researching on-line classes. (The high school's modified block schedule makes it pretty much impossible to zip over to the local cc and take a class.) So, the Dean of Academics will allow the ds to self-study/take an on-line class during a study hall period. I've found all sorts of options (local cc on-line classes, MIT OpenCourseWare, Stanford EPGY On-line High School, etc.). If you were in our shoes, what would you do? Any favorite on-line classes for these two subjects? Any personal experience to share? TIA!!!!</p>
