Does anyone know what is the best online program to receive high school credit during the summer? Which do and do not require proctoring, which can be completed in the shortest amount of time, and which are graded the easiest/ have the least amount of assignments? Does the caliber of the online high school for a single course greatly affect my final high school transcript?
You need to go to your guidance counselor. There are rules in each state for what providers are state-accredited and there are rules per school as to how many online credits are allowed per student.
The Keystone School (an online high school) my kid was able to complete one year of high school geometry over the summer in four months May - August without restrictions after guidance counselor approved our plan. Very happy with the courses offered and teachers they use. Tuition is reasonable and they offer a payment plan as well. Tests were not proctored, but were timed and challenging, so in my opinion course integrity was maintained. They offer credit recovery courses and AP and Honors courses. My kid also took state-mandated courses like health, speech/public speaking and on-line physical education PE gym class when restrictive high school schedule didn’t permit us enough flexibility to cram in all the coursework. My kid even took their online fine arts class to fulfill a high school elective requirement.
