Hi,

Which schools are considered the best for photography in the Metro DC area (DC, VA, MD)? Google search seems to bring up more schools advertising themselves instead of reviews.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance!

How about MICA?

Darn Taxguy, you stole the words right out of my mouth. :)

HI Carolyn :)

Also, consider the Corcoran College of Art and Design whose web site url is:
http://www.corcoran.edu/prospective/degrees_undergraduate.asp

Both MICA and Corcoran are NASAD accredited.

However, if you are seriously considering photography, I would be remiss if I didn't mention who the top ranking photography schools were ( regardless of location):

School of Art Institute in Chicago ( SAIC)

RISD

Rochester Institute of Technology.

University of New Mexico

I should also mention Syracuse University photojournalism major, which is considered top notch. Syracuse also has a photography program in their art school that is well ranked.

I have personally seen RIT's photography department, and it is amazing.
