Upcoming Junior here! I just got my scores for the June ACT, which is the first ACT test I've taken.

Prior to taking the ACT, I studied by taking two practice tests out of the red book (in which I scored a 29 on both).
On the June ACT, I scored a 31 composite, with subscores of 32E, 29M, 29R, and 32S, which isn't good enough for the colleges I'm planning on applying to, and especially with my math subscore since I'm planning on majoring in CS.

What prep book should I plan on studying in order to improve from a 31? I've already taken 2/5 red book practice tests, so what other book do you guys recommend I look into?

Princeton Review’s “Cracking the ACT” and Princeton Review’s “1296 ACT Practice Questions” for starters… You’ll get like 8 solid/realistic/hard practice tests out of those books.

read this guide: <a href=“Jeandevaches' Guide to the ACT - ACT Preparation - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/act-preparation/1071765-jeandevaches-guide-to-the-act-p1.html

Go over the answers you missed in the Red Book and find where you went wrong. For the questions, you missed try reworking them. I’m sure you can find solutions to the red book somewhere online.

Since you are already scoring the the 30s, you should buy Barron’s ACT 36 which is used to get those students over the hump. I heard the 1296 ACT practice questions were good though I haven’t actually purchased the book.

For math help view onlinemathlearning .com’s ACT math videos.

Also for more practice tests by the actual creators of the ACT view the forum: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/act-preparation/1205768-here-are-act-pdf-s-p1.html

Some of those links don’t work anymore so you actually have to go through both pages. And for the second page that has the link to ACT quantum click the tab on the left that says ACT practice tests

Alright, thanks. I’ll look into Barron’s 36. I heard good things about it too but never really knew much about it until now.
