After doing poorly on May subject tests, I have decided to retake them in October. Which prep books would be best for getting 750+ in literature/US History? Also, would it be advisable to buy AP English Lit books for SAT Lit, or are they different?

CB Official World History & US History book
The Official Study Guide for all SAT Subject Tests by the College Board
Barron’s for studying for literature (practice tests not accurate)
Kaplan is good for studying for US History

Anything CB official, you should get your hands on. For Lit, I wouldn’t worry about a prep book if you’re in an honors or AP English course at school. I’m not sure if I would buy AP English Lit books if I were you, unless you really believe you need extra prep. I took AP Lang this year and took SAT II Lit in June and garnered a 790. I don’t take AP Lit until next year so in my opinion, you don’t need any prep books for AP Lit for this test.

Did you have a prep book for the AP Lang exam? I’m taking it next year and I really want a 5.

Barron"s is the best

@RayJack Our class used Cliffnotes and strictly practiced using their four practice exams. The level of difficulty Cliffnotes makes their tests is much higher than the actual thing.

Just recently got my scores back and I scored a 5 on AP Lang so it’s worth purchasing if you think you need a prep book.
