I really don't know much about SAT prep books and courses. There are so many different materials out there so I'm quite confused. Do you guys have any recommendations? What resources should I use in my quest for a perfect score? Thanks.

old SAT tests/questions
as many as possible

Of course, practice Where can I find tests and questions that accurately represent the CollegeBoard S.A.T.? Are there any particular books that provide useful tips and insight that I should read?

The Official SAT Study Guide, Second Edition has many helpful practice tests. Full explanations are online for all the questions.

It’s really very straightforward. You can only get better through practice and perhaps memorizing vocabulary. Tips and tricks are not worth the time learning.

Use the Official SAT Study Guides 1st and 2nd Editions, as well as the Online Official Practice Tests. Get your hands on some past QAS’s and PSAT’s. Do not use Princeton Review, Kaplan, Barron, etc. They are awful.

Do problems. Analyze the explanations to all of the problems. If you need to, look over math and grammar and vocabulary.

If your essay-writing skills are not that great, practice writing essays. Find past essay prompts and practice your 25-minute speed writing.

Really, a 2400 comes with practice, unless you’re already an amazing standardized test taker.

Hey, thanks so much! What’s the difference between the first and second editions of The Official Sudy Guide? Or are you just suggesting both books for extra practice? Also, can I find old PSAT’s online? Sorry for all the questions. I just really want to do well on this. :)

Oops, I messed up, don’t get the 1st edition. The 2nd edition has all but one of the practice tests in the 1st edition anyways.

Yeah, you can find old PSATs online in College Board’s online store.

Okay, second edition it is!
How should I prepare for the vocabulary portion of the critical reading section? Would any books or online resources be helpful? Does The Official SAT Study Guide provide word lists?
