best residence hall?

as the title says...which are generally the best residence halls for freshmen? the "cleanest"? the biggest? best location/nearest to classes? individual bathrooms?

thanks :)

it all depends:
what you are studying (closest to classes)
cleanest (depends on how clean your roommates are)
Don't think there are any rooms that have individual bathrooms...are you female :)

Check out this for info:

I don't think they give you a choice so I guess you just have to make where you are the best.

I've heard M&M is the ummmm least quiet. The upper and lower cents apparently have their own little quad type thing going on so maybe you get to know more people who are in proximity. Dravo is the one all the way up on the hill to the left and it seems relatively quiet. I think Taylor used to be the nicest freshman dorm, but they changed it to upper classmen so far as I know. There is a substance free dorm if that's a priority. The RA's aka Gryphons run a lot of programs for their halls and
I have to say that it all seems more organized than when I went to college. The bathroom situation is a little more communal than I had in college where we had suites with six girls to a bathroom. You'll need a shower caddy and flip flops.

You don't get a choice, and there is no longer a substance free dorm because Taylor has now been taken over as an upperclassmen hall. There are, however, substance free halls within different dorms.

I was in Dravo as a freshman, and I personally think Dravo, Richards, and Drinker (the three in the main quad) are your best bet. I was on the top floor of Dravo which really sucked since it was a HUGE haul to get up there, so I'd probably say Richards is the best (it's a little closer to the main road). Lower cents is farthest from your classes unless you're a business student, and M&M has tiny rooms and is usually gross. Lower cents' rooms are also microscopic. I had the largest dorm room on campus, actually. It was a corner room in Dravo and it was huge. Dravo, Richards, and Drinker have the biggest rooms, and you're also more likely to get a single there than in lower cents or M&M.

hey anyone know about the substance free dorms... whether the "people" are any different from the other dorms? and if they have a substance free dorm, does that mean drinking and drugs are a problem?

so every freshman will most likely get a cubicle like dorm rather than a suite type. Has there ever been a case where freshman lived in the apartment style residence housing? I know that is reserved for 2nd years and onward, but I saw one of M&Ms room, and it was really small and cramped. Its not that big of a deal, but hey, if i can get a better room, why not try.
