Best Residence Hall???

I know there are already threads on this but, Which Res Hall is the best for freshman. Please give your reasons...

Dykstra? Don't know.

does anyone know how reiber is btw?

I personally like Rieber, but I think it's cuz I'm so used to it. (I stayed there for a week for tennis camp and some of my friends at UCLA now are in there.) The only downside is the walk up the stairs, which can definitely be a b****.

Rieber. It's the closest to Puzzles and the Hilltop store.

i also think rieber. it's in the middle in terms of socialness for the res halls, and it's also centrally located to most of the dining halls as well as the other res halls if u want to visit friends.

heh i thought Sproul was the best. =o
"The only downside is the walk up the stairs"
wat do u mean by this?? theres no elevator in the entire hall? or the walk up to the hall?

Westow:

What UCLAmy means is that there's a flight of stairs up the hill you have to take to get directly to Rieber. Of course it has elevators.

yea there's a flight of stairs u have to walk up to before you even reach rieber hall. you can choose between that or walking up that AND THE HILL to reach hedrick. now rieber doesnt seem so bad in comparison huh?

"heh i thought Sproul was the best. "

not the best for FRESHMEN, which was what the OP was asking for. sproul is full of 2nd years, which means 2 things in general. 1) they tend to be less social outside their own group and 2) you won't meet as many freshmen friends.

of course, the flip side of that is that the 2nd years could provide you knowledge about UCLA, or they could have the answers to some of the questions you have about UCLA since they've been here for a year already.

^ this is quite true - but I was extremely happy with my floor in Sproul my freshmen year. It was a lot of fun.
So my vote goes to Sproul ;)

Maybe they designed it so that the freshman would have to do more exercise.

^ to burn off the freshman 15!!!

"but I was extremely happy with my floor in Sproul my freshmen year. It was a lot of fun."

i am also very satisfied about having sproul my freshman year. i would want to stay in sproul again if i had the choice.
