<p>I'm thinking about making a trip to GA Tech pretty soon and I was wondering what the best and most popular restaurants around campus were? It be great if I could get some suggestions so I can plan out my trip a little better. The more the merrier. Thanks for the help!</p>
<p>let me be the first (for probably many will mention it) to say the Vortex. It is like right beside the Tech campus and has the best burgers you will ever eat. Fair warning, you have to be 18 or older to go in because the entire place is a smoking restaurant (they card you to make sure)</p>

<p>Holeman & Finch has better burgers than the Vortex. They make 24 burgers at 10 pm and that’s it. You have to get there early (around 8pm) to reserve your burger (they have plenty of other things to eat while you wait). Alton Brown awarded it the Best Burger in America. On Best Thing I ever Ate, Anne Burrell also named it the best burger she ever ate.</p>
<p>Flip (Top Chef All Stars winner Richard Blais’ restaurant) also has pretty good burgers.</p>
<p>People like the Vortex for it’s ambiance and it’s proximity to Tech. But it’s an average burger at best.</p>

<p>The Varsity is, for whatever reason, a very traditional eatery associated with Tech. But it’s food is very mediocre.</p>
<p>Tech Square has some good, if chain, restaurants. Moe’s, Tin Drum, Ray’s.</p>
<p>How far are you willing to drive? There are some pretty good places within a 5 mile radius.</p>
<p>If you’ve never been to a Waffle House, you should go to the one in Tech Square. It’s been open about a year now. It’s not exactly a restaurant though… more like a diner.</p>
<p>When visiting my son we often take him to the ‘Spoon’, a pretty nice Thai place right off of campus ([Spoon</a> | Thai Restaurant](<a href=“http://www.spoonatlanta.com%5DSpoon”>http://www.spoonatlanta.com)). For Chinese we go to the Mulan (<a href=“http://www.mulanatlanta.com%5B/url%5D”>www.mulanatlanta.com</a> ), I think about 4-5 blocks to walk.</p>
