I need to take one this summer, but have heard multiple times about how many of them move very slowly and can be very boring. Does anyone have any recommendations on which one to take? I've very easily bored would like a more advanced course. Goal is a 2000 if that matters.

The best SAT Prep course is the self-study course.

its pretty cheap too … maybe a hundred dollars for books thats it.
and you can proceed at your own pace and only learn the material you truly need to know.

many threads on this course as well

Lol @byahnoob. And pretty good advice.

You might want to also read the article on deciding if you want to take a prep course that I posted here:

^What about for critical reading?^ Prep course good or not?

if you really need help… don’t take courses … get a 1 to 1 tutor

^ I have trouble studying by myself, and I have a 1 to 1 tutor but I have nothing to do all summer and 1 to 1 tutors are expensive as well. Can someone just recommend the best course?

Well all the courses suck, but if your really trying to waste money…

i’d say try for Kaplan or Princeton Review.

The Kaplan course helped me some. It went from a 1640 (Practice test) to 1820 (June SAT). But I feel like it could have been better. It was a classroom course of about 20 kids. Some of the kids had no idea about the general knowledge stuff of the SAT.

But over the summer I will be taking a Princeton Review course with a small group of 3 to 4 kids. I originally wanted Princeton Review but there was no course offered during April.

But the courses definitely do help.
