I am a Junior. Right now my schedule for senior year will look like this:

AP Gov
AP Calc
AP Physics
AP Comp
AP Stat
French 5
Orchestra
Gym

I want to take AP Macro also, but there aren't enough periods and I am required to take gym. Should I keep my schedule the way it is or sub macro in for French or orchestra so I have 6 APs? I am good at French, and have done it for the rest of high school. I also excel at my instrument, so I assume colleges would see that I am passionate about it if I take orchestra. which schedule would be the most appealing to a top school?

I would say the way you have it now, if you can't fit anything else in. Level 5 of a language shows dedication and strength in the given language. And, like you said, orchestra shows passion for your musical talents which is very important to display. These are two very important parts of who you are, and giving either of them up for a sixth standard AP class would be a bad idea.
Colleges want to see who YOU are, they know the AP Macro class pretty well by now.

Good Luck with whatever schedule you choose. =]

I agree, keep it as it is. The 5 ap's already show it's a strong set of courses, and french 5 shows a lot of dedication even though it's not an ap. Orchestra will show that too, especially if you've been in it in previous years

Was having a moment of free time or happiness during your senior year a consideration? Because if I were you, I'd be thinking about dropping an AP class, not adding one.

If you want, you might be able to keep your schedule as is and just take the AP Macro exam without the class. Talk it over with your counselor and the AP Macro teacher, and if they and you think it's a good idea, set up a method by which you could learn the material. If regular econ came pretty easily to you, you can probably do fine by reading and taking notes on the chapter and doing a bunch of practice problems. If you have the time to devote to it, it should be within the realm of possibility.
