Best school I can get into with a 2.8 as a comp engineer?

UCR will probably take you. Despite the bad rep, the computer science and engineering department there is decent. Don’t give up applying to the mid-tier UC’s though, try to show the colleges something new each time in your essays, ECs, etc.

San Jose State is located in the Silicon Valley and is also a decent choice with its strong engineering program. These are just a few choices, there’s definitely a decent college that will accept you even with that GPA. Research these (locations, life, environment, weather, etc.) and find the best match for you.
