I’m currently in my junior year of high school, looking to see what colleges will be best for me, as I wish to pursue a career in psychiatry. Given that psychiatry generally requires an undergrad, before pursuing a medical degree, I would like to first get my undergrad degree in general psychology, and was wondering which schools, save for the obvious Ivy Leagues, have the best psychology bachelor’s degree programs, especially in relation to graduating into the psychiatry field.
While I’m generally against the ranking of undergraduate programs, this list is a pretty decent one for psychology:

The numbers are meaningless. Instead of thinking of it as a true ranking I’d think of it more like “Here are 30 really good departments of psychology in a more or less random order.” (You’ll see that #1 and #30 differ by 0.36 points. Does that mean anything? Probably not.
However, I will say that 1) this list completely omits the small liberal arts colleges, some of which have very excellent psychology departments, and 2) psychology is an ubiquitous major. Most good solid colleges will also have a good solid psychology department, and you don’t have to go to a “best” program in order to get a good education. Remember that at the undergrad level you are selecting a college and not a “program” - and you’ll only take about 1/3 of your classes in your major. It’s not like grad school.
