<p>You won’t begin to even think about sports medicine until your internship/residency and more likely in a fellowship. Right now is far too early to be thinking about this.</p>
<p>Med schools teach a basic medicine curriculum and in your fourth year you can do an optional four week sub-I rotation in orthopedics. This would be the first time you’ll even be exposed to orthopedics other than as a part of the basic med school curriculum.</p>
<p>Ortho is one of the most competitive residencies out there. Worry about getting into med school first.</p>
