Hi! I am currently a Junior and want to do a double major in Journalism and polsci. What are the schools should I take into consideration??
Thanks!
One important distinction to consider is whether you want a journalism degree and a BA in Poli Sci – which would mean a double degree program from a university, meeting the requirements for two separate colleges – College of Journalism and College of Arts and Sciences. Or, whether a major in “Communication” or other department which would be part of a College of Arts and Sciences, is what you mean. The former – a double degree candidate, not just a double major, can be challenging because a student has to meet degree programs for two separate colleges within the university. The latter – a double major within a single college of a university, or from a liberal arts college – is often much more manageable to complete.
GWU is very strong in both.
What’s your budget, home state and stats?,
Here are some combo programs:

[] I am a dual enrollment student. When I graduate HS, I will also graduate with my associates of arts degree. I take challenging courses at the college, like stats and will be taking chem, and also take classes geared towards journalism. ie: Intro to mass communication, News Reporting, (& more to come). I was chosen to represent my school at a ILS (Illinois Leadership Seminars) and am still very involved with that organization. I will also be attending a Journalism and Media conference this summer in Washington D.C.
Also I will graduate with honors from the college, and will be completing the honors program, and am also in the honors society TPK.
Thanks!
UIUC will be hard to beat, but have the college funding talk with your parents and try a search tool to narrow your criteria:
