Swat has simplified their transfer application -I bet that means they'll be more selective this year.

I assume Northwestern University, forgive me if I'm wrong.
Northwestern 34%

I am really surprised that NU has such a high transfer acceptance rate. How could this be, this year, they claim they took like 100 out of 600 who applied, something sounds fishy.

Wash U is mad high too.

Bowdoin 14%

No way UIUC is that high.... no way. I applied there and to University of Michigan as a junior transfer and was rejected at illinois but accepted at michigan. Some of my friends with high stats as well were rejected from illinois as transfers.

Haverford 2%!! with no transfers last year

I had this gut feeling that their transfer rate was really low. :( Oh well.

I wonder though, if some of the ones with really low transfer rates receive more unqualified applicants... (perhaps just wishful thinking) I know Carleton was lower than usual last year -had there college guidebook ratings gone up or something? Maybe they just had very, very few open spaces...

UMRunner, I copied what usnews says. And 49% acceptance still means more than half are rejected.

49% acceptance is pretty high derekc.. that means 1/2 the people who applied were bul****ing themselves to begin with..

bball87,

The rate may change a lot from one year to the next. Northwestern probably decided to accept fewer this year because the 2008 freshmen class was pretty full.

well it's a huge public university. Lots of kids failing, transferring out, and it's a lot of kids's safety school for a transfer. I am guessing (but could check) the transfer yield is rather low.

hey are those numbers for instate or outastate, or does that not really matter when transfering and only for freshman admin?

total(10 characters)

Can you get Wesleyan's transfer rate?

what are johns hopkins' and carnegie mellon's transfer rates?

Wesleyan 35%
Johns Hopkins 16%
Carnegie Mellon 14%

UIUC is competitive for certain departments, such as Engineering, but for others, like LAS, it's not as hard to get into as long as you meet the requirements.
