Best Schools?

It's clear that Wharton is better than Stern, and even if it's somehow not, everyone will still value it that way. But we should all understand that Stern is good at second place. I applied there, and if i get in, I will probably go there. I have no problem admitting that a Wharton student is better than me. It's no use arguing over that. I probably couldn't make it to Wharton. It's just that for me, Stern is good enough somewhere right under Wharton.

"Harvard, Yale, and Princeton > Wharton for investment banking, consulting, and other business jobs."

That's why there are more wharton students working at Goldman Sachs than HYP COMBINED.

Guys, guys, guys...and ladies, whichever the case me be. I see there are many Whatonites and many Sternies arguing. But let us face it. You are all biased. Allow me to give my completely unbiased and neutral opinion.

The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor's Ross school is #1!!! LOL

I know, there's a surprise!

Seriously, as far as I am concerned, this debate is pointless. Clearly, Wharton is the best Business school in the US. I love Michigan, and I respect other great B schools (including Stern), but Wharton is Wharton.

This said, one can get as good an education at any of the top 7 or 8 Business programs...so I do not see why we are all arguing here.

Alexandre is wise. Look Alexandre saying that another program is better in some other school other than Michigan has a probability level akin to the probability of humans dying out and fungi ruling the world. I hope the people understand the significance of this moment. Lets all take this in.............;)

haha jk Alexandre I like Michigan also. Especially now with the huge grant they recieved.

What do you folks think about business undergrad at Georgetown? It is pretty appealing in many ways. Georgetown does not have the undergrad business ranking in USNW - I think they are #30 or so.

However, recruiters seem to love the school. Again it is a fine university and in the right georgraphy. How many NY ibanks go to UT or Berkely? I bet GU places more people on Wall Street.

Oh yeah. What about WUSTL's business program? How is their placement?

What do you folks think about business undergrad at Georgetown? It is pretty appealing in many ways. Georgetown does not have the undergrad business ranking in USNW - I think they are #30 or so.

If I were lucky enough to get in there, I would study liberal arts anyway.

Isn't it the business GRAD school that really matters? Just wondering, since everybody seems to be arguing so much over undergrad...

well northwestern dosen't have any business undrgrad degrees
i have to major in eco
does anyone know anything about northwestern kids?

Northwestern ug is a decent school, aroun Berkeley level, a bit below the likes of wharton.nyu stern, and the upper echelon ivies.

I disagree with one part of quakerman's statement

For business, nyu stern MAY be ahead of NU, but overall I think NU is a great school and one would be very fortunate to attend such a fine university. I think the fact that I'm applying to NU and not applying to Stern says something as I have done my fair share of research into various colleges and I plan on becoming an investment banker right out of college.

Does Yale have a business school?
Does Princeton?

college is just 4 years of your life and its not gonna change your outcome in life

"college is just 4 years of your life and its not gonna change your outcome in life?

Huh Gingahbman ? I asked Does Yale have a business school?
Does Princeton?

in terms of raw stats of entering class (gpa/SAT) stern, wharton, etc are above northwestern. It's a fact. Also, going to nortwestern won't be that good for ibanking. it's not a targeted school by the top ibanksa ndf at most 1-5 people a year will land those jobs, to be honest with you.

hmm well the nu undergrad is ranked way above the other schools mentioned on this board even above cornell and brown not penn but
yea i guess ur right about the business side of nu though i don't know anything
dang
looks like i have to change my major

I hate to break it to you, but USNEWS isn't a rankign you should follow-and Wall Street recruiters don't value it at all. Trust me, in no universe is WUSTL a top 10 school or is Penn SAS top 5.

actually it is a target for the top ibanks. It is an excellent school for a future IBer.

No, it isn't. Check out the lists. Relative to the schools I mentioned, Northwestern doesn't place too well. For every Northwestern students who land a job, 5 or 6 wharton/stern students have gotten one

U of M Ann Arbor's business school is ranked #1 right now. There was a report I watched earlier this year on CNBC and it seemed very impressive.
