thats impossible you could never know from these schools this early you filthy liar. why did you even bother posting this?

Farbdogg, Lets run down the list shall we.

PSU Smeal/Schreyers- Decision letter just mailed out and received- Applied in November

Emory- applied through the Emory Scholars Program, Named a Semifinalist for a full scholarship in January, Admission came with that notification

USC- Applied for the Scholarship deadline in December, Just received notification that I am a finalist for the Trustee's scholarship (full tuition). That letter came a few days after I was admitted.

Case Western- Applied Early Action- notified in January

Washington and Lee- Applied for the George Washinton Honors Scholarship, received notification in early February that I am a finalist for a full tuition + expenses scholarship and have an expenses paid trip scheduled for March 1-3. I am assuming with this offer that I am admitted,

If you are still not pleased or if you have any other uninformed conclusions to post- I will gladly dispel them. To quote adidas, "Impossible is nothing." haha.

Now that that is taken care of......Does anyone have any objective adivce or information to offer as to my choice between the schools i posted.

ut mccombs is also nice..esp in accounting...its ranked 1 in that area

I have a question. I am mostly likely to go to Rice Univerity, which in my opinion one of the best undergraduate universities in the nation. I know that it does not have the strongest business though. However, graduating from this university, do you think I'll have a chance at Penn, NYU, etc? I will definitely work my butt. But I kinda have this view that like for applying to college, it doesn't matter if you come from a bad high school as long as you work hard, you'll still have a chance at ivy leagues. Anyways, my deal is that it seems people are making this HUGE deal that one must go to Penn undergrad to even survive wharton.

BTW, Northwestern has an EXCELLENT program..I believe

I don't know who's been telling you that you must go to Penn to get into a top MBA program down the line. A Rice alum with good work experience and a high score on the GMAT can pretty much get into any MBA program.

I posted this on another thread also....basically trying to compare Stern/Ross/Kenan (NYU/UM/UNC)

I see Ross and Kenan-Flagler close on the heels of Wharton,Stern and Sloan, in many areas. What would be the advantages of paying almost twice as much for Stern as for Kenan > (Other than the obvious...access to NYU recruiting).

Wall Street firms go to all of the top 10 to recruit anyway.

One thing I see, is that at Stern and Wharton you get admitted directly into the undergrad business school, while at Ross and Kenan, you have to apply in your sophomore year?

Any comments?

Ross is generally considered the best of the three, but only marginally. Obviously, there is a risk with Ross because it is very hard to get into. You have to be in the top 25% of Michigan's student body to even consider applying to the B school...and even then, you only have a 50/50 chance. But if you get in, Michigan's Ross is second only to Wharton. Stern is a top 5 BBA program with the best Finance department of the three (but Michigan's is almost as good) and excellent ties to Wall Street (but Michigan also has very strong ties to Wall Street) so you cannot go wrong with Stern. Kenan Flagler is also pretty good and located in Chapel Hill...awesome college town.

You have a tough decision ahead. Keep us posted.

I'm a senior in high school and new to this post, so bear with me.

For those of us who can NOT necessarily get into ivy league schools UG, how do the UG business programs rank at schools such as BU, Tulane, and George Washington? How difficult would it be coming from these UG business schools and trying to get into graduate programs such as Stern and Wharton, considering one does very well?

IF you can maintain a high GPA (over 3.5), get good professional experience after graduating from undergrad and then, score high on the GMAT (over 700), you have a very good chance of getting into a top MBA program.

Does anyone know of UCLAs UG program especially in business econ. I know its not up there with the ives but how is the job situation for IB coming out of UG Thanks

Hello. I didn't get much feedback on the threads I made for UT-Austin or NYU so I figured I might give this one a shot :) I've been accepted into NYU (STERN) and the business honors program (BHP) at UT-Austin and really don't know which to choose. I'm considering a major in marketing but am not THAT serious about it, though I AM quite serious about a major in business. Given the statistics that those accepted into BHP avr. an SAT score of 1450-1460 and are in the top 2.4% of their class, does this give me the same prestigious pathway, if not more, than if I were to choose Stern (where I'm not even a Stern Scholar?). Also, would it be worth a 3.0 at Stern when I might be able to get a 3.7 at McCombs?

omg! did i just throw away my life? are my job prospects ruined because i didnt' apply to wharton??? i will never be recruited for anything now, will i?
srry, that was over the top. its just this board was getting so intense.

seriously though, what is the concensus on WUStL?

wustl is second tier and bad for business

first tier is ideal, such as wharton/haas/ross/stern/mccombs and others...

my family friend went to wustl for undergrad, none of her classmates could get into the good grad schools and many of them couldnt find jobs (ibanking)

went back to u of a and began again with pre-med

Ok guys I need some feedback....

Im debating whether to go to Penn State's Smeal College of business (undergrad). Ive heard some pretty good things about it like rankings and reputation etc, but at the same time how much would it benefit me to go there and what kind of jobs will I be able to get compared to, say if I got into a liberal arts college like Bates or something...?

Thank You!!!! I really have to make a decision soon, so please any suggestions, opinions or comments are welcome!

I am planning to take business administration, and would like to deal with resource management in the future, and I am having this problem of deciding between going to UVA or USC.

For UVA, I got $10000 scholarship each yr so the cost is much cheaper than in USC. I think it's a nice school, but my admission to McIntire is not guaranteed. Furthermore it's rural and boring, and not so well known in my country.

For USC, I am already accepted by Marshall, which I think is quite good as well, and I will have a lot of fun during the 4 yrs. However, it has its name of the University for Spoiled Children, ppl don't seem to pay high respect to it, and the fee is almost a double than that of UVA.

So what do you think about these 2 schools? Which schools do u think I should choose?

I would go to UVA over USC. I find UVa to be a perfect university in a perfect location. USC is pretty good too...but I just love UVA. But that's just me.

wharton is what college again...

if you dont know what university wharton is associated with then you should not be considering a business major

Where r all the Haas ppl?

Berkeley has had problems w/ funding in the past, but they actually have more money than ever b4 this year-- tats y their admit rates were higher this year by 1 or 2%.

I applied to Berkeley just so I could get a shot at going to Haas-- got in to Cal-- so...we'll c what happens.

I applied to UMich too-- but I recently moved and havent got my acceptance/rejection from them-- so i still dont kno if i got in-- i guess its too late now anywayz-- statement of intent was due may 1.
