Best summer programs?

sorry for another post

heres what I want to know:

the best summer programs (like that RSI one but for international affairs or economics) or if it would be just as advisable to intern with the Camden office of Senator Frank Lautenberg in NJ? coming from a good experience standpoint but also something that will make a college app better

Interning with Senator Lautenberg would be an amazing opportunity.

Hey Everybody.

This past summer I attended Stanford's EPGY (educational program for the gifted youth). They offer a variety of great 3 week programs. While you learn a lot and get to study under a stanford prof., you will not be overwhelmed. There are 3 hours of class a day with 1 hour of homework five days a week. The rest of the time you are free to do whatever. The weekends you can go to the beaches or the mall, or wherever you want. If you ask a counselor, you can get permission to go anywhere off campus. (I went to an off campus church that my old pastor now preaches at on a sunday). After the program is over, you will recieve not only a certificate of completion for the course, but a personal recommendation from the stanford professor that you studied under. I did the engineering program, and I was probably an average kid in the class, but the prof still wrote a recommendation that told the admissions departments of the colleges that i applied to that they would be making a huge mistake not to accept me and that i would be able to keep up at any university. So, if you want to do a summer program that looks good to colleges, this one is going to look incredible!

RSI is probably the best for juniors. TASP is the RSI of the humanities, as it sounds like the OP is into that.

Promys!@ :)

if you're from the NY city area, you can do the rockefeller university science outreach program- basically like RSI or any other research program except less competitive (~20% acceptance rate). a lot of rockefeller labs are really good, but there's a course in science reading / writing you have to take.

RSI > Life

jk

did you play in the frisbee match? i want to visit boston next year for one weekend just to kick ass in the ultimate match and leave.

I didn't play in the match haha. I had a catastrophe the weekend before papers were due (project sucked, basically) so I had to go see my mentor that day to try to salvage something. I saw part of the game though.

And by the way, for everyone who doesn't know, RSI beat PROMYS pretty bad in the student match and mutilated them in the alum match.

the alum match was a massacre!

student match was a result of no one knowing how to play ultimate lol

it's a wonderful game nonetheless. I am trying to get it started in Alaska :p
